Don Carter was the site of our 2016 Georgia Navigator Cup. I haven't replicated the GNC courses, as our Start location is different, but I've incorporated some of the GNC legs, and have even tweaked a few things based on lessons learned from the GNC.
So, we will have a National Meet quality map, with National Meet style courses. It will be fun for all, and will serve as a great warm-up for those of you planning to attend the Flying Pig that's coming up in a few weeks.
To encourage pre-registration, I am going to set aside course maps for everybody who registers by Tuesday night at midnight (www.gaorienteering.org). Tuesday night is the latest I can incorporate pre-registrations in the map printing order.
Further, I will set aside course maps for those who pre-register by Friday night at midnight, even if I have to go make extra color copies myself.
After Friday night midnight, until pre-registration closes, I will still make every effort to set aside your course map until and unless I run out.
Maps set aside for pre-registrations will be held until noon on the day of the event. If you will be later, just let me know and I will hold it longer.
So, the only way to GUARANTEE you get a course map is to pre-register. Don't worry, I will still be ordering extra maps, but who knows how long those might last! I will also order some blank maps so as a last resort we will be able to draw courses on site.
I know, it sounds confusing, but it's not. Just pre-register early, and put all your concerns to rest.
I hope to see a big crowd.

GAOC offers beginner instruction at 10am at all local meets. Runners may start their course any time between 11am and 1pm with a 3-hour time limit for all courses. All runners must be off the courses by 3pm.
Directions to the park from the DNR web page go out of their way to go too far north.
Suggested alternate directions below consist of only a short stretch of gravel road:
Take 985 to Gainesville
Take exit 24 (to US 129N)
Right on Limestone Pkwy (129N) at McDonalds
Right on Clarks Bridge Road
after 4.8 miles, right on B. Clark Road (gravel - changes to paved)
at dead end, right on N Browning Road into park.
Typical fees are shown below. Participants may go out on the course as individuals or with a group. E-chip rental is required if you do not have your own stick.
