The Indian Springs State Park near Jackson, GA features open forest with an equal amount of open park running with plenty of trails, roads, power lines and buildings to confuse the navigator. The map is 1:7500 scale with 3 meter contours so pay a little attention to your compass's scale bar so you can judge the distance better. Every little bit helps. Courses should be fast, putting a premium on quick reading of the map.
Start times as early as 10 AM. Last start at 1PM. Instruction offered as needed.
We'll meet at Picnic Shelter #1 with plenty of parking. Prepare for the $5 parking fee.
Esticks are available to rent ($3). Remember to bring your signed preregistration form (pdf)!

GAOC offers beginner instruction at 10am at all local meets. Runners may start their course any time between 10am and 1pm with a 3-hour time limit for all courses. All runners must be off the courses by 3pm.
From I-75 southbound, take exit #205 to Jackson; proceed south on Ga. Hwy. 42 to the park. From I-75 northbound, take exit #188; proceed north on Ga. Hwy. 42. Approximately 15 miles from exits.
Typical fees are shown below. Participants may go out on the course as individuals or with a group. E-chip rental is required if you do not have your own stick.
