Please join GAOC on Saturday night, October 27th, for the Pits of Despair NiteO with catered dinner at Dauset Trails. Dinner is free for orienteers who pre-register by midnight Thursday October 25!

We will have a Yellow course (1.5km, 6 controls), and a Score course (25 controls). Both courses have a 90 minute time limit. Controls on the Score course range in value from 3 - 7 points, maximum score of 107. Overtime penalty is 1 point per minute. The Yellow course will be open for daytime orienteering starting at about 5pm.

Dinner will be catered by the Henry County HS JROTC and paid for by GAOC for individuals who pre-register by midnight Thursday October 25. Those who don't pre-register by midnight Thursday may still buy dinner for $7.50 at the event, while supplies last.

If you pre-register, but later decide not to attend, please let me know (richardshane@comcast.net or 770-820-5361) so we can adjust our food order.

Dinner and course start/finish will be at the bike trail head parking area, which is just west of the main entrance to Dauset Trails. See detailed directions below.

You may choose to eat either before or after the orienteering, as dinner will be served from 6pm to about 9:30. The mass start will be about 7:30, or whenever it gets dark.

Please keep in mind, there are NO dogs allowed in the park.
