Join us at Chattahoochee Bend State Park for another great day of orienteering! We will meet at the boat ramp parking lot - just keep going until you run out of road and we will be in one of the picnic shelters.

We will have all courses White through Red. Also, we will have another adult training opportunity - a contour-only no-compass map will be available for the advanced courses silver through red - see details below.

Volunteers are always welcome - no experience necessary to work at registration, start, or control pickup.

Contour-only No-compass Training Courses

The map will have only contour lines and other earth features. There will be no north arrow and no north lines. The map will also be rotated an undisclosed amount away from magnetic north. The text on the map (descriptions, control numbers) will not be aligned to north. The features like pits that are normally oriented north will not be oriented. The map will also be cut so that none of the edges of the paper align north. Sounds like fun!

The silver-brown-green-red courses will be available on the special map - the same as the regular courses. My advice is to run down a course (or two) if you have never tried this.

Panic instructions: go downhill to the river, then turn upstream (right) back to the finish.

Do not go off the map! That will make it difficult to recover...
