Please join GAOC on Sunday, April 14th, for classic courses, Bike-O courses, Chase, and Lunch at Dauset Trails Nature Center. Houston County JROTC teams will also be competing against each other on the White, Yellow, and Orange courses.

Chase

The Prologue/Chase will consist of 2 courses that are of Intermediate/Orange level difficulty, open to all runners, with male and female divisions. The first, “Prologue” (approx. 2.5KM) will be run in the morning; runners may start between 9:30am and 11:00am with a one minute start interval. Finish times from the Prologue will be used to determine the start order for the “Chase” which will begin at 12:30pm. The Chase will be approx. 3.6KM. All runners who desire to run the Chase must run the Prologue and must return to the start/finish area by 12:00pm. The male and female runners with the fastest times from the Prologue will start the second course “The Chase” at exactly 12:30pm. Subsequent male/female runners will have a delayed start equal to the difference in time behind the fastest runner in the Prologue (i.e. if you finish three minutes behind the fastest runner in the Prologue, you would start the Chase as exactly 12:33pm). At a predetermined time (after approximately the top 10 runners in each category are on the course - but no later than 1:00pm all remaining runners will mass start). The intent is to chase down (and pass) those who start ahead of you, as the first runner to finish the Chase with all controls correctly punched wins, regardless of Chase start time or amount of time spent on the course. (Following, while not encouraged, is also loosely enforced since all are running the same course). You can't win, if you are “following” the person in front of you! Again, this event is open to all runners regardless of age. Medals will be provided to the top three female and male finishers.

Lunch

For all who desire, a simple lunch will be provided by Hillgrove NJROTC, consisting of hotdogs, chips, and a variety of drinks. All items will be conveniently priced at $1 each. Anyone bringing a large group, please email ronald.hojnowski@cobbk12.org to ensure enough food is on-hand.

Be sure to pre-register. It doesn't cost anything extra and lightens the volunteers' workload.
