The GAOC events on March 8 & 9 at FDR State Park will be 2 separate events with separate courses each day, except the White course will be the same both days. Both days are open to all competitors with day-of-meet registration, except for those in the Area 12 competition, who must pre-register thru Stockbridge High School JROTC department. Walk-up registration will use the regular GAOC meet fees in addition to finger stick rental.

During the Saturday event, we will also be hosting the Navy JROTC Area 12 Orienteering Championships with 27 school teams pre-registered. The JROTC competitors will be competing at all levels. Area 12 units should consult their LOI for details.
The Score course, which was designed mainly for the Area 12 competition, may be done by everyone else either as an individual or in teams of up to 4. The Score course has 26 control points with a mix of Yellow, Orange and Green difficulty.
There will be 3 categories of competition for the Score course, Area 12 teams, Open teams (2-4 competitors) and Open individuals. All categories will run the same controls. Scoring for the Score course will be based on individuals or teams with the most points finishing within the deadline. Score control points have values of 1 thru 6 points with a total of 85 points. The point values are based on distance from the start/finish plus difficulty. There is an absolute time limit of 90 minutes, go over and you are disqualified. No mercy, no exceptions, only our clock time counts. If doing the Score as a team, team members must finish at the same time within the 90 minute time limit. Any team member who misses the team finish will have zero points. First team finish (1 or more competitors) will be considered the team time.
