Gold Branch is an excellent park for the beginner orienteer. The park is surrounded by the Chattahoochee River to the north, south, and east. It is bordered by residences to the west with a "power line" type buffer.
From some of the hilltops, the Chattahoochee seems to stretch for miles without any sign of civilization. This is quite remarkable as the park is in the center of some of the most upscale suburban development in the country.
Please come early as parking is limited. Buses should especially come early so they have room to turn around.
From Atlanta, take GA 400 North to Exit 6 (Northridge Rd). West to Roswell Rd and turn North (right). Cross river, first left onto Azalea Rd. Turn left on Willeo Rd. then bear left to Lower Roswell Rd. Park is approx. 0.5 mile on left. Follow signs.
