"Sweetwater Creek is a peaceful tract of wilderness only minutes from bustling downtown Atlanta. A wooded trail follows the free-flowing stream to the ruins of the New Manchester Manufacturing Company, a textile mill burned during the Civil War. The river offers beautiful and historic scenery, and on most coures the orienteers will be very close to the stream. The map has few green areas, but offers a great challenge on the longer courses with lots of climb.
Orange, Green and Red courses will have e-punch, and white and yellow offers traditional punching. Instruction for beginners is available.
From Atlanta, west on I-20 to exit 44. South on Thornton Rd. Right on Blairs Bridge Rd. Left on Mt Vernon. Follow signs to Park.
