This Sunday 19th at Franklin D Roosevelt State Park, our club president will host an orienteering meet with all the trimmings. Charlie promises a full set of courses including a BROWN course, so there will be an entertaining course for all skill levels. Everyone will find something they like, from the beginner just learning the sport, to the long-time orienteer who needs a navigation challenge without all that running.
This meet will feature electronic punching, so you can compare results with your friends and show off your winning time.
A large and detailed map has been updated with easy-to-read symbols and printed on 11x17 paper.
Join the fun in the woods. Start anytime 11:00am to 1:00pm this coming Sunday.
From the North, take I-85 South to exit 21. Go South on I-185 to exit 42. Go left on US 27 to Pine Mt., then left on GA 354 to the park. Turn right into the park and cross the dam below Lake Delano. The shelter is down the hill to the right.
