I expect snow and ice to be gone by Saturday and warmer temps prevail for some good orienteering weather at Ft. Yargo. There is a long Red course (7.6km) to train our fast orienteers to manage decisions under stress from fast courses (very little climb). They will be expected to do well under 10mins/km.
Meet at picnic shelter #5 via the main entrance. Typical start times.
Volunteers welcome for registration and instruction.
From the main entrance to Ft. Yargo, head to the beach area, turn right to picnic area #2 and shelter #5.
From Atlanta, take I-85 North to GA Hwy 316 East and go approx. 21 miles to GA Hwy 81. Go North on Hwy 81 for approx. 3 miles to park entrance on right.
