Come join us May 12th (a Saturday event!) at McIntosh Reserve Park for the Annual General Meeting and picnic, including a Motala, White, Yellow, and Orange courses.
What is a Motala? - A mass start at 11AM, with 4 separate loops of about 1 kilometer each. You will do a loop, come back to the finish/map exchange and pick up another loop. Do that until you are tired of doing loops, so you can do 1-4 loops. Results will be reported based on the loops you finish. You don't have to decide how many loops you will do until after the race starts. All loops will be of similar difficulty. There will be one charge for the Motala no matter how many loops you do.
The loops will use the open fields and the fringes of the woods along the Chattahoochee River. If you have never been to McIntosh Reserve, it is a very beautiful, very open (at least in the area we will be using) historic park, with a log cabin to visit and Chief McIntosh's gravesite.
Motala: Mass start at 11AM.
White (3.0 km), Yellow (3.2 km), Orange courses (4.7 km) open until 1PM.
Picnic (bring food to share) at noon at the historic Council Bluffs picnic shelter (top of the hill!).
Annual General Membership Meeting at 1PM. If you have a wonderful idea to help the club, this is the time and place to bring it up
for discussion. Also there will be reports from the club officers and those who are doing things.
From Atlanta, go west on I-20 to exit 34, then south on GA 5 to Whitesburg. Go 2 miles past Whitesburg, then turn left on W. McIntosh Circle.
Typical fees are shown below. Participants may go out on the course as individuals or with a group. E-chip rental is required if you do not have your own stick.
