Join us Sunday, Nov. 15th at F D Roosevelt State Park. Start and finish will be at the Stone Picnic Pavilion in the Liberty Bell Pool parking lot. Pre-registration is required.

NO BEGINNER INSTRUCTION WILL BE OFFERED. Regular Yellow, Orange, Brown, Green, Red and Blue courses will be offered. No White course is being offered. The Yellow course does require some walking in the woods (i.e. off-trail) but is suitable for beginners.

Participants must select their start times when registering, with starts available from 9:00am to 1:00pm. Time limit is 3-hours for all courses; all participants must be off all courses by 3:00pm.

Course Setter’s Notes: Generally, the vegetation is open and the woods is very runnable. All rootstocks have been removed from the map. Many of the mapped rootstocks had deteriorated beyond the point of being suitable to map. Many new and hence obvious rootstocks exist that were not on the map. To eliminate confusion, no rootstocks are on the map. There are very few trails, man-made features, or rock features. It's almost like contour-only orienteering – losing map contact will be costly!

Notes:

  1. Participants may only participate in ONE course.
  2. In accordance with GAOC Covid Guidelines, pre-paid preregistration is required, and there will be no equipment rental of any kind for the event. Water will NOT be provided on any course. Participants must bring their own compass, e-stick, whistle, and water. A few e-sticks are available for purchase on our merchandise page.
  3. Participants will be started promptly at their selected start time. So that we comply with limits on the number of people at the park at the same time, please arrive at the parking area no earlier than 20 minutes before your start time, and leave the parking area within 15 minutes of finishing your course. To facilitate social distancing, please come to the start no earlier than 3 minutes before your start time, but be sure to be at the start on time.

To maintain the health and safety of all participants and volunteers during the COVID-19 pandemic, GAOC is implementing special rules for event participants. Please review and follow the GAOC Pandemic Rules. Pre-paid preregistration is required. (Registration will open for our volunteer meet directors at 7:00pm on Monday, September 28th, and will open for other volunteer coupon holders at 8:00pm on Monday, September 28th. Registration will open to everyone at 8:00pm on Tuesday, September 29th.) No paper forms or payments will be accepted on-site.
