The BubbaGoat lives! This is your chance to run long, longer, longest!
Courses will be "about" 7K, 9k, 11k.
There will also be White, Yellow and Orange courses, regular length. But no silver, brown, green, red - just the BubbaGoat courses for advanced runners.
There will be a mass start for the BG at 9:30, with a 4 1/2 hour time limit. We will have a briefing before the start so you can ask questions. Everybody has to be back by 2PM. Starts for the regular courses will be after the BG start.
If you are late and miss the BG mass start, don't despair! You can start when you arrive, but your start time will still be 9:30...
So if you are unsure about your ability to go long, just sign up for one of the BG courses and do as much as you can.
There are always special rules at the BubbaGoat to challenge you. This year I have really challenged Vinton's abilities to score everything. He tells me there are about 15,000 possible variations!
On the map there will be some number of red rectangles surrounding a group of controls.
Here are some examples - controls in brackets are in a rectangle
Original - 1,2 ,3 [4,5,6,7] 8,9,10 [11,12,13] 14
OK: 1,2,3[ 5,6,7]8,10[11,13]14 : skipped #4 in first box #12 in second box and #9 outside the boxes
Wrong: 1,2,3,[5,7,6]8,10[11,13]14 : the same skips, but out of order!
Wrong: 1,2,3[5,7],8,10[11,13]14 : Too many skips in first box!
So you can see that, in addition to navigating and covering the distance, you have to think about which controls to skip. Sound like fun?

From I-85 North or South near Newnan, take Exit 47 Hwy. 34 (Bullsboro Blvd.). Go west 0.8 miles. Turn right onto Hwy. 34 Bypass (M Farmer Industrial Blvd.) and go 6 miles. Turn right onto Hwy. 34 (Franklin Road) at 4-way stop and go 8.2 miles. Turn right onto Thomas Powers Road and go 2.7 miles to a 4-way stop. The road name changes to Hewlett South Road. Continue straight 0.9 miles. Continue straight onto Bud Davis Road and go 1.9 miles. Turn right onto Flat Rock Road. The road name changes to Bobwhite Way. Continue straight to gated entrance of the park. The park address is 425 Bobwhite Way, Newnan, GA 30263.
