The Annual General Membership meeting (aka AGM) will be held at the McIntosh Reserve meet May 19th. This is your chance to participate in club business, vote on officers, bring up topics for discussion, and generally find out what went on last year and what the future plans are. Fred Zendt (our club president) will be sending out an agenda soon and you can contact him if you want something discussed.
We will also be orienteering! Of course. And having a picnic!
The AGM will start at noon. During the morning we will have orienteering starts (see below). The club will provide hot dogs, buns, and condiments. Your job is to bring food to share. The shelter has power and restrooms.
Schedule:
9:00-11:30: orienteering starts
11:00: dogs hit the grill
noon: AGM starts
| Course | Description | Controls | Distance | Climb |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Skill Drills | Novice course | 16 | 4.5 km | 75 m |
| Zero to Orange | Intermediate course | 15 | 3.8 km | 75 m |
| White/Yellow | Beginner course | 12 | 3.1 km | 50 m |
The "Skill Drills" is a one person relay that consists of 4 skill drills. The idea is that you: punch the start and take a map - do that drill (which circles back to the start) take another map and do that drill repeat for 4 drills, or until you have had enough fun punch finish
Vinton has a fantastic program to score all this and report results, no matter how many drills you do.
Event volunteers are always needed and appreciated. Each volunteer is awarded a coupon that may be used for discounted (and early) event registration or items from our merchandise page.
If you are interested in helping out at the start, beginner instruction, search and rescue, or control pickup, please select your volunteer position(s) on the registration page or contact the meet director.
Runners must select their start time when pre-registering, and will be started promptly at their selected start time. To facilitate social distancing, please come to the start no earlier than 3 minutes before your start time, but be sure to be at the start on time. There is a 3-hour time limit for all courses. All runners must be off all courses by 1:00 pm.
