We only get to go to Joe Kurz once a year, so here is your chance. This is a unique map, with a mix of open fields and woods. Kevin and I are in year 2 of our project to update this map with new lidar contours - and it is looking great. Almost no climb, so it is super fast. Courses are longer than usual to make up for the easy running. We will be crossing the road and heading out toward the Flint River. This area is managed for wildlife, especially birds, so many open fields, some planted, some fallow, some mown.

There are many "trails", which are as wide as a tractor, mown, and mapped with a black dash lined with yellow.

A fishing license, hunting license, or Georgia Lands Pass is required while on the WMA. You may purchase a license or Lands Pass online at www.gooutdoorsgeorgia.com or find a store near you. More information is at georgiawildlife.com/licenses-permits-passes. A one day license is available as the "Combo Hunting/Fishing (Short Term)" license for $8.00, and annual licenses are available for $18. License options and prices are listed here.

All participants are also required to sign a Georgia WMA Waiver of Liability, separate from the GAOC Waiver of Liability. A paper form will be available at the event for adults, parents, and guardians to sign. If you are a minor and your parent/guardian will not be at the event, please download a form, print it, have your parent or guardian sign it, and turn it in at the event.

Volunteers are welcomve for the start, search and rescue, and control pickup.
