- McIntosh Reserve Park, entire park -- embargoed as of June 1, 2025
- Chattahoochee Bend State Park, entire park -- embargoed as of June 1, 2025
Friday - Sunday, Jan 16-18 -- Model Area: Chattahoochee Bend State Park
Maps of a small area with controls will be available in a box in the Visitors Center parking lot. Please return the map to the box when you are done. Do not wonder off the mapped area. The rest of the park is embargoed.Model map is also available here at 1:7500 and here at 1:10000
Friday, Jan 16 -- McIntosh Reserve Park
- Middle Distance National Ranking Event
- One-day, individual event
Saturday and Sunday, Jan 17 & 18 -- Chattahoochee Bend State Park
- Classic Distance National Ranking Events
- Awards for all OUSA classes based on 2-day combined times
Monday, Jan 19 -- McIntosh Reserve Park
- Mal Harding Extreme-O
- Limited to 75 participants
- Long (approx 10km) and short (approx 5km) courses offered
- Great fun for 2- or 3-person teams, but may be done solo
- If you expect to be part of a team, be prepared to come with a team NAME and the E-stick number to be used.
- E-stick punching is required. If you have an e-stick rented from GAOC, please be prepared to return it at download after the Extreme-O.
- Patterned after a three-day military competition held in a member NATO country each year
- Different map styles - orienteering, USGS quad, aerial photos may be used
- Puzzles and mazes have been included too
- Mandatory Extreme-O meeting to be held Monday morning, 8:30am, location TBD
